Obituary for Carmen I. Karim (Perez)

Carmen I. Perez Karim 59 of Sterling, Pa. died on Wednesday Aug. 24, 2016 at her home. She was the loving wife of Abdul Karim with whom she had celebrated 34 years of marriage. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico she was raised by Magda Colon of New York.

Carmen was living in the Sterling area for the past 9 years and prior to that she resided in the Gouldsboro and New Jersey areas. She was employed as an office manager for the Pocono Spring Co. for several years and was also worked as an L.P.N. She was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.

In addition to her husband Abdul she is survived by 3 children: Jamel Abdul Karim, Zulaka Karim, and Ayeash Celeste Karim and grandchildren: Anthony, Alijah Jamel, Isaiah Abdul, Selena Sky, Justin Jamel, Jayden Arthur, Zariyah, Aliyan, and Aniyah and her nephew Jesus Colon.

A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday Aug. 31, 2016 at 1:00pm from the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th. St. Stroudsburg, Pa. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of the services at the funeral home.
