Jeanne L. Howell 86 of Tannersville died on Saturday March 11, 2017 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest Allentown, Pa. She was the widow of Owen Richard Howell who died in 2014. Born in Tannersville she was the daughter of the late Fred and Lucy (Miller) Anglemeyer.
Jeanne was a lifelong resident of the Tannersville area; graduating from the Pocono Mountain High School. She then attended Mansfield University where she received her degree in Music and English. Jeanne taught Music and English at the Pocono Mountain School District for several years. She also taught and instructed numerous students in instruments at her home for many years and was known as the town babysitter.
Jeanne was a member of the Pocono Twp. Vol. Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, long time member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Tannersville where she was a member of the Ladies Guild, the Central Pocono Ambulance Ladies Auxiliary, and the Historical Society of Pocono/Jackson Townships.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter Sheri Howell of Tannersville, loving and dedicated grandmother to Carey Clark and his fiancé Samantha Granitzki and Cody L. Clark and his wife Alyskia and a great grandson Levi Owen Clark, aunt to Lorrie Jean McCoy, Debbie Johnson, Willard C. Anglemeyer and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jeanne will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She was preceded in death by a son: Steven R. Howell and a brother Willard F. Anglemeyer.
Funeral services will be held on Friday March 17, 2017 at 11:00am from the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th.St.Stroudsburg, Pa. Burial will Laurelwood Cemetery Stroudsburg, Pa. There will be a viewing on Thursday March 16, 2017 from 6-8:00pm at the funeral home and on Friday March 17, 2017 from 10:00am until the time of the services at the funeral home.
