Obituary for Dolores Paul

Dolores G. Paul 94 of Stroudsburg met our lord on Saturday April 22, 2017 in the Lehigh Valley Hospice House Pocono E. Stroudsburg, Pa. She was the widow of Robert A. Paul who died in 1998. Born on April 16, 1923, she was the last surviving child of Norman E. and Gertrude (Rinker) Possinger.

Dolores was a lifelong resident of the Monroe County area. In the 1930’she was a pitcher for the Reeders Roverettes softball team, they traveled all over the area, locally, Easton & Allentown. In 1940 they won the District Championship she would tell stories about the traveling team. Dolores worked at the former Ronson Plant in Delaware Water Gap until its closure and then took a managing job at the Hill Motor Lodge (Presently the Days Inn) in Tannersville for 40 years until her retirement in 1997.

Come Christmas everyone will be missing the many variety of delicious cookies she always made.

She is survived by her daughters: Carole & Paul Urban of Cheraw, S.C., Beverly & Donald Strong of Stroudsburg, Diane & Lawrence Grebb of E. Stroudsburg, Theresa Shupp-Rosso of Stroudsburg, Desiree & Ray Boling of Castle Rock, CO., and Hansa & Ramesh Patel of Philadelphia and sons: Gordon & Beverly Hilliard of Reeders and Richard and Clair Hilliard of Fl.; grandchildren: Earl Hilliard, Regina Grebb, Nicole Berger, Diane Hilliard and Avni Amin, great grandchildren: Tiffany Elliott, Heather Boling, Amber Boling, Christa LoDuca, Derek Storm, Jake Bailey, Michael Hilliard, Nicholas Hilliard, McKayla Grebb, Liam and Naya Amin.; great great grandchildren: Connor & Tyler Wright, Grayson Elliott and Harlow Boling.

Dolores was preceded in death by sisters: Verlo Hallett, Gradys Osborne, Buelah DeAngelo, Marion Lee and brothers: Claude and Norman Possinger Jr. and her beloved grandson Ronald “Scooter” Strong.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 26, 2017 at 12:00noon at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 232 N. 9th.St.Stroudsburg, Pa. Burial will be in the Laurelwood Cemetery Stroudsburg, Pa. There will be a viewing from 11:00am until the time of the services at the funeral home.
