Obituary for Nathan E. Smith

Nathan Earl Smith, 28, formerly of Bridgeport NE died on Saturday, September 3rd, 2017 at 4:25 in Monroe County, PA. from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Nathan was born November 26, 1988 in Chadron, NE to James L. and Coffey M. (Jones) Smith. He was married to Cheyenne Noel Chun on April 2, 2010, but divorced in the spring of 2012. He was currently attending Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, PA. While there, he co-founded and was president of Sprout Initiative Lehigh Valley in July 2016, and started the New Bethlehem Ministries Community Garden.

He graduated NCC’s Leadership Program, won the 2017 Environmental Excellence Award, President of Good Growers Club and received NCC Civic and Community Engagements Student Grant. He worked at Tyler Technologies verifying records for tax purposes. His music and poetry touched many, and he was loved dearly by his friends and the many lives that he touched.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Curtiss and Goldie Smith of Chadron NE, Donald Jones of Cambridge MA, Roberta Dahl Songer of Orange MA and his Uncle Robert Smith of Chadron NE. He is survived by his parents, his siblings: Carter Smith (Tara Davis), Parker(Billie) Smith; Joseph Smith (Chelsea Wallace), Nichole (Casey) Harless, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
