Condolence From: Debbie Kahan
Condolence: I feel so out of touch that I'm just discovering that my former Dialogic colleague and friend has passed away. Walt was certainly a unique person with a great mind and equally great sense of humor. I really enjoyed working with and learning from him. My deepest (very belated) condolences to his family and those of us lucky enough to call him a friend.

Condolence: It's taken me a while to find the right words. I remember interviewing Walt for a job at Dialogic, and I knew immediately he was going to be a great hire. Very much a free spirit, Walt defied any traditional job description. Yet his contributions were large and his insights significant. When I needed a sounding board or a brainstorm, he was always one of the first I would go to. I can't even begin to say how much I valued his friendship. In the past year we shared a lot, as we both battled serious illness. Walt lost his fight much too young - I will miss the conversations, his delightfully wicked and sometimes obscure sense of humor, and above all his passion for life. Love of family & friends, good food, good beer, good wine. Rest gently, Friend.

Condolence: I am so saddened to hear of the news of Walter's passing. Walter and I were in the same class at CMU. If not the same class year, same class family of "tribally" related designer friends who have managed to stay in touch with each other over the years with ever-increasing endearment to each other across our varied backgrounds with the CMU experience binding us together. Walter always had a quiet, fatherly wit about him that translated to my respect for him as a designer, design-thinking professional.
While it is easy to say "thoughts and prayers are with you" -- I am getting on my knees right now to: 1) give thanks for the light of Walter's life to my life and his CMU friends; 2) that we would honor him by doing right; and 3) send out into the Universe wishes of profound peace be on your family during this time.

Condolence: Marianne, Jennifer, Alex, Trip... Walt was truly a good man with great sense of humor and always a helping hand. He was so gentleman with my kids when they were little... Bianca will never forget Walt's esquimo kisses, and in general his candidness and love. He started a few months earlier working at Dialogic and I was looking up to him, as was impressed at his technical and customer service skills, but over all he reached out to me and helped my family a great deal as we were transplanted to the Poconos and I was way over my head. Marianne was no less of a blessing, and Trip was like a big bro to Marco.
I am sure that such a good man pleased the Lord and thru His Mercy and Grace Walt is granted a place in eternal life in peace.

Condolence: Walt and I worked a lot together until 2006. He was a friend rather than a colleague, always ready to give advice, help and appreciation. I remember many business trips we made together; his professionalism and humanity were equally recognized and appreciated. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Condolence: A conversation with Walt was always an adventure of non-sequiters. Such a great mind! He was a good friend from our days at Dialogic and Intel. So sorry to hear of his loss.
